There will be an opportunity to ask questions directly following the presentation, given by April Ingle, executive Director of the Georgia River Network.

Participants include Lumpkin Co. Comm. Chr. Steve Gooch, Rep. Amos Amerson, Dahlonega Mayor Gary McCullough, Don Seabolt of Emergency Services, Michael Lapina of the US Army Corp of Engineers and Becky Champion of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division. Agriculture Comm. Tommy Irvin, Sally Bethea of the Upper Chattahoochee River Keeper and Joe Cook of the Coosa River Basin Initiative will also be on hand. Ron Jones of the North Georgia Sierra Club will moderate the discussion. Written questions will be taken from the audience.

Background:
The public comment period on the first draft of EPD's Water plan was from October 1-30. The EPD then revised the plan and submitted a second draft to the Georgia Water Council which reviewed the revisions on November 9. Another public comment period will take place but dates have not been announced as of this alert. Dates will likely be announced after the next Water Council meeting on November 28.
