The largest environmental film festival in North America is coming to Atlanta for the fourth consecutive year. With a growing public awareness for the environment, the Wild and Scenic Film Festival aims to increase this groundswell through inspiring and educational films which hopefully will motivate people (like YOU) to go out and make a difference in their community and around the world.
Each year,
Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper (UCR),
Georgia River Network (GRN) and
Georgia ForestWatch (GFW) partner to select the best of these award-winning environmental films and bring them to Atlanta in a three-and-a half-hour program. Located again at the Tara Theater, the program (with a 15 minute intermission) offers a mix of films addressing environmental issues such as energy, food systems, biodiversity, climate change and the protection and restoration of wild lands and waters. The program concludes with a special local feature Chattahoochee: From Water War to Water Vision, a film by Rhett Turner and Jonathan Wickham. This one-hour documentary explores the decades-long fight between Georgia, Florida and Alabama over water in the Chattahoochee River basin. And s a special treat, complimentary SweetWater beer tastings will be available for our 21 and over guests!
