The Georgia ForestWatch 2010 Wild & Woolly Native Plant Sale & Book Festival
will be held 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, May 1, at
the Sheehan Barn in the Persimmon Community of Rabun County. The site is nestled
along Persimmon Creek in a pastoral valley of striking beauty.

This annual benefit will include hundreds of native plants from Scott Creek Nursery, Jennie Branch Nursery, Jack Johnston Natives and Mill Gap Farm; music by Celtic fiddler Marie Dunkle and Old-time Appalachian fiddler Kelly Smith; literary talks and book signings by Dr. Barbara Duncan, Education Director of the Museum of the Cherokee; poets Mildred Greear and Laurence Holden; the "Wild Gardener," Peter Loewer, and wilderness and children's advocate, Melissa Walker of Atlanta.

Other regional authors also will be on hand to sign their books, including Patricia Howell, Hoke Shirley, Charles Souther and
Fran Moeller Gatins.

Raffle items include a hand-woven basket from Jan Stansell, outdoor gear from Patagonia, a framed photo by Lori Jenkins
and a signed, limited-edition photograph by Peter McIntosh.

Entrance fee is $20 per adult. We'll see you there!
